Majestic Wine CEO set to share bonus with staff

The Chief Executive of alcohol merchant Majestic Wines could be about to share his personal bonus with senior employees.

Rowan Gormley is set to give out £7million (which includes his bonus) to lucky staff members, after he announced that he didn’t accept the shares offered to him as part of a long-term incentive plan - the Retail Gazette reports.

“We're serious about aligning our people and our shareholders' interests,” he said. “We are focused on investing in our people.”

The 493 staff who will be profiting from the bonus will be store manager-level upwards, and may have the chance to gain £14,000 each if they achieve their targets.
