Byron Burgers training day turns into Home Office sting

Dozens of workers at a London-based Byron Burgers restaurant have been arrested by the Home Office, who confirmed that people of Brazilian, Nepalese, Egyptian and Albanian nationality have been arrested – Spanish newspaper El Iberico reports.

The incident occurred 4 July.

A senior member of staff claimed that employees had been told to attend a health and safety meeting at 9.30am, but immigration officials arrived and began interviewing people.     

The senior member of staff, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, told The Guardian: “It is f*****g disgusting. Some of these people worked here for four or five years and they weren’t even given a chance to say goodbye.”
