Pizza Hut & Shoprite's errors highlight need for job ad diligence

First and foremost, job adverts need to be correct: if they aren’t, then how can you expect the attract the correct candidates?

A job advert by Shoprite Isle of Man for the full-time role of night shift worker said that successful applicants would be expected to work four “sh*ts” per week, instead of shifts.

The caption that accompanied the photo said: “Oops, slight typo causing much amusement in the store, before it was taken down!!”

Another job advert, this time by a Pizza Hut restaurant in London (Metro.co.uk reports), started out okay, stating: “Assisting to serve meals and drinks to the customers of our business. The goal is to ensure customer satisfaction and augment our establishment’s reputation.”
