Game of Thrones-style CV lands candidate interview

Candidates are trying increasingly creative ways to make their applications stand out to recruiters.

One such jobseeker posted his CV on Reddit, revealing that he had written the entire thing in a style akin to Game of Thrones, according to Wetpaint.com.

User blueddit4 posted a screen shot of his application and the following exchange between himself and the company’s HR representative.

His CV read: “I am [redacted], first of his name, graduated fresh from University of [redacted], scientist of computers, hunting for a job.”

“Attached is my resume to prove that I am worthy to serve House Symph. And if ever you feel that my credentials are okay, I am always willing to learn to adjust and fit the company’s needs.

“I also live by the motto: 'If you are the smartest person in the room, then you are in the wrong room'.

“Thank you for taking your time in reading my application via virtual crow.”

To this the recruiter replied with their own creative response, writing: “Greetings. I was just beginning to recover and get on with life after the last season ended. I’m unsure if I should thank you or hate you for bringing up the memories.

“Anyway, let’s meet. Are you free to come to House Symph tomorrow at the strike of ten in the morning? I’ll arrange to have bread and salt prepared to ensure your safe passage.”

The candidate replied: “Expect my presence at House Symph at the strike of ten in the morning, carrying the banner of House blueddit4. I shall represent our house well.”

Wetpaint.com reports that Reddit users were suitably impressed by the candidate’s cunning CV. However, they did advise a more professional approach for the rest of the hiring process.

What do you think? How would you respond to this CV? Tell us in the comments…

Novelty over meaning.... possibly knows naff all about x, y or z but is trendy enough to hit a note of familiarity with a popular (and possibly fleeting) trend in the field of entertainment.
Ooooh, now there's a person I'd want designing the safety system in a modern locomotive, or such like.
Or was this for yet another meaningless 'airhead' role where image is the most important criteria ?

Stupid and slight bias if you ask me, we all create professional and formal cvs to get in a firm that represents even our approach of application.

To be chosen over a GOT geek, is just unprofessional from both sides.

I mean who has not watched game of throne.
