BBC Chiefs receive pay rises as they attempt to cut costs

The BBC’s annual report has shown that their wage bill went up last year, despite plans to save hundreds of millions in the upcoming years – The Guardian reports.

Charlotte Moore, who was recently promoted to Controller – TV Channels and iPlayer, saw her pay packet go up by £30,000.

Mark Lindsey, the corporation's Director of BBC Studios, received a pay increase of nearly £60,000 (£292,000 to £340,000). However, the BBC highlighted that his predecessor, Peter Salmon, had a salary of £375,000.

Matthew Postgate, their Chief Technology Officer, also now has a salary of £302,800 – a rise of £70,000.
