CEOs frequently treat staff, but it’s rare that roles are reversed and they go out of their way to lavishly reward their boss.
But that’s what employees at Gravity Payments have done, buying their CEO, Dan Price, a $70,000 (£52,000) Tesla – The Seattle Times reports.
Last year Price raised the minimum wage at his company to $70,000 and subsequently saw revenues double. However, his brother, Lucas Price, sued him for violating his rights as a minority shareholder as well as breaching duties and contracts. Last week Dan Price contested the lawsuit, with a judge ruling he had not breached the contract in question – according to The Seattle Times.
Price posted the news on his Facebook yesterday: “Shocked. Still in disbelief. Never imagined this was possible. Gravity employees saved up and pitched in over the past six months and bought me my dream car.”
