300 staff lose their jobs via 'disgusting' text message

More than 300 staff have been sacked via text message with less than 24 hours’ notice, some while still at work.

Employees of Wrexham-based GHA coaches were sent a text message informing them that the company was due to cease trading that night, the text also informed them of a meeting they were required to attend – The Metro reports.

The text message said: "I sorry to report GHA Coaches will cease trading tonight plz attend depot meeting at 10am Tomoz all wages holidays WILL be paid [sic]."

Some staff were driving buses when the announcement was made.
