Around a third (30%) of new starters plan to leave their job within the first 12 months, and over half (58%) don’t expect to be at the same company after three years.
Managers are no fools to the honeymoon period, with 53% expecting the majority of new recruits to leave after three years.
According to research conducted by YouGov, on behalf of The Institute of Leadership & Management, almost one in five (19%) of new recruits are currently actively looking for a new role.
The report, named ‘Beyond the honeymoon: Keeping new employees away from the exits’, found that although 73% of new starters feel delighted with their new jobs, the feeling won’t last forever.
