Farage steps down: 'I want my life back'

The controversial leader of the UK Independence Party has stood down after successfully spearheading the Leave campaign, stating that he “wants his life back”.

In a classic example of work-life balance gone bad, Nigel Farage told a press conference earlier today that he had “done my bit” and would leave the party in a “pretty good position”.

The BBC reports that Farage, who has led the party for nine years, said his stint as leader has included "tough at times" but was "all worth it".

"During this referendum campaign I said I want my country back. Now I want my life back,” he said.
