Boxed, an e-commerce platform that sells bulk groceries and household products at wholesale prices, are no stranger to treating their workforce.
They already pay the tuition fees of their employee’s children, and now they are funding their worker’s weddings.
Chieh Huang, CEO and Co-Founder of Boxed, decided to implement the policy after one member of staff, whose mother was ill, struggled to simultaneously save for his wedding and pay for his mother’s medical expenses.
“Our goal is strengthen the overall employer-employee bond,” he says. “I think paying for college tuition and wedding expenses helps us do that,” says Huang.
