CEO apologises to employee fired after going into anaphylactic shock

The CEO of a company who fired an employee for going into anaphylactic shock at work has apologised. 

Danielle Duperreault, from Saskatchewan in Canada, was working at clothing store Urban Planet when she suddenly went into anaphylactic shock.

She detailed the whole incident in a Facebook post. Duperreault explained how she had come into contact with bell peppers, something she is deathly allergic to, whilst on shift. When her throat began to close up she called to her manager and tried to explain that she didn’t have her EpiPen with her.  

“I went out to my car and searched for one but no luck,” she wrote. “So I go back into the store, gurgling and clutching my throat while customers and a few staff around me were freaking out and that same manager stood calmly at the computer typing away.
