Jamie Wilkinson, Managing Director of Mensio Consulting, spoke to us about promoting diversity and how to bridge the gender pay gap.
What can recruiters do to promote diversity when they’re selecting candidates? Do you think enough is being done at this time?
“Recruiters need to understand diversity and ethics from the very beginning. At Mensio every new employee, trainee or experienced consultant, is given training on diversity and how to address it during the recruitment process, this includes signing the Equalities Act 2010.
“It is not what the recruiters should be doing but what recruitment companies should be doing to better educate their employees in best practice. Diversity in the workplace is at the top of the agenda for many businesses and not just when selecting candidates but in regards to internal hiring; if they aren’t prioritising it already, we believe they should be.”
