It is often difficult to prove its worth to the Boardroom; a struggle that many HR professionals will recognise.
So how important is health and wellbeing to the corporate agenda?
Speaking to HR Grapevine, Amanda Willis, Group Head of Reward at Peel Ports, answers this question: “Health and wellbeing is at the forefront of the corporate agenda as it is clear that they both contribute to successful individuals and, therefore, company performance. There may be a combination of ‘tools’ which can be used to achieve the right result for an individual employee: simple steps to improve health such as encouraging healthy eating and walking up the stairs rather than taking the lift, to Healthcare Cash Plans and Employee Assistance programmes.”
