Employees working in supplier companies to Disney in China are paid 93p for every hour of work, fail to receive overtime pay and work in harmful conditions - reports allege.
The findings precede the opening of a $5.5billion (£3.87billion) Walt Disney theme park in Shangai.
An investigation by Students and Scholars Against Corporate Misbehaviour found that some employees worked 144 hours of overtime a month which employers failed to compensate them for, and were paid wages below legal requirements.
Three factories had a high occurrence of work injuries, which allegedly saw employees’ fingers cut off or injured due to “insufficient training and ageing equipment.”
