The excuses staff will use to watch England vs Wales

With just two days until England face off against Wales in Euro 2016, football fans across the country will be keen to show their support for Roy Hodgson’s team.

However, the match will be aired during work hours, so employers should be wary of the potential increase in workers catching 'summer flu', or perhaps their dogs pulling a ‘sickie’ on Thursday.

A leaky washing machine, sick pets and allergies are just some of the excuses that one in 20 employees have considered using to get the day off work.

Reed surveyed 1,351 workers and collated a list of the top ten excuses they would use if they fancied putting football above work.
