Female candidates reveal interview discrimination from employers

Asking a woman if she intends to have children in the future is illegal.

Perhaps that law is unknown to many, with interviewers still asking females the question and using the information to shape hiring decisions.

Cassandra Smith, from Melbourne, had worked some casual shifts as a pharmacist and then applied for a position within the chemist. During the interview she was asked if she planned to have children within the next few years - the Daily Mail reports.

Smith says: “Initially I was asked, ‘Where do you see yourself in five years?’, I answered and then the male owner said, ‘Do you have a partner?’, and, ‘What about kids, will you have kids in the next five years?’
