The debate about the future value of humans in the workplace is ongoing, with automated ‘robots’ enabling industries to improve efficiency and accuracy in completing work.
Technological endeavours have seen robots function in construction and manufacturing sectors, although bots are not limited to those industries. Other advances saw Pizza Hut Asia hire their first robot waiter, and according to The Guardian, it is predicted that driverless cars will make up 75% of all traffic by 2040.
However, these feats seem to render a human workforce outdated by optimising processes for mobile industries. According to Howard Williams, Marketing Director of Parker Software: “the development of software automation in financial services, healthcare, logistics, retail, and defence that will truly transform our society and enhance – not replace – us mere humans.”
In business automation, “supporting humans” is a phrase encouraging us to embrace and consider bringing robot technology into businesses.
