Fries with that? Why fast food jobs are going to robots

Pizza Hut has unleashed its latest technical collaboration – a robot waiter.

The humanoid robot, named Pepper, will act as a waiter - taking orders, liasing with customers, offering dietary advice and taking payments.

Asia has already embraced the use of robots in businesses, with Pepper already being used as a waiter, salesman and customer service representative in about 500 companies in Japan, according to a report by Reuters.

SoftBanks Robotics has collaborated with Pizza Hut Asia to launch a new commerce app, powered by MasterCard payment service MasterPass.
