A company claims to have found the final solution to the discrepancies between male and female employees pay.
Brainlabs, a mathematical marketing agency based in London, has voted to eliminate the overall gender pay gap by increasing women’s pay by 8.6%. Dubbed the “Pay Gap Tax”, it’s a tax which is paid to all female employees in the company.
By looking at the average amount a man is paid, and the average amount a woman is paid, the difference is correlated and that amount is then given to every woman in the firm, regardless of performance or position.
Director of Brainlabs Sophie Newton explained the bold move in an interview with the BBC: “It gives companies an incentive to really solve the deeper issues that are at the heart of gender equality and diversity in the workplace.”
