Woman with Tourette's syndrome asked to leave Costa will now train staff on inclusion

Staff working in an outlet of national caffeine chain Costa Coffee will undergo new training, following an embarrassing incident with a disabled customer.

A customer with Tourette’s syndrome was asked to leave their café in Porthmadog, Wales, by employees after an involuntary outburst.

Kate Marsh was in the shop with her partner when a worker came over and asked her to wait outside, saying that they do not tolerate bad language in the shop, the Daily Post reports. Marsh then explained that she suffered from Tourette’s, and that she could not control her tics.

Speaking to the publication, Marsh explained the incident: “I was upset with the way the staff member spoke to me, even after I explained that I couldn’t help what was happening.
