Diversity in the workplace has become an increasingly hot topic, however the issue of employees adapting to cultural shifts has been largely ignored.
6.6 million foreign born people of working age live in the UK, as documented in the report Migrants in the UK Labour Market. In 2013, 36% of those were employed, and 45% were self-employed workers in London. UK employers also rely on 1.6 million workers from the EU, according to a report by the Social Market Foundation.
Employers are continually being urged by government to have a diverse workforce, including corporations such as the BBC - who are adopting new measures to tackle BAME targets.
