An employee at national supermarket chain Morrisons was told she would lose her job because she was “too fat” to fit behind the checkout till.
Marcia Gurvitz explained her humiliation in an interview with the MailOnline, claiming that she was forced to buy her own uniform from eBay because the chain didn’t have anything big enough for her.
Gurvitz has since left the role at the store in Collindale, after she was publically embarrassed by management. She commented: “They wanted to check if I would fit behind the till because of my weight.
“I asked - if I don't will I lose my job? They said yes. I was stunned and gobsmacked. I thought I had just wasted three weeks of training and I was near to tears. Luckily I did fit behind the till but when I complained about the insensitive way I'd been treated, they didn't understand.
