Workplace dissatisfaction causing staff to leave

Job satisfaction has fallen to its lowest level for over two years across all sectors, according to a joint survey by CIPD and Halogen.

Intentions to switch jobs have risen to almost a quarter (24%) - the highest level in two and a half years.

Many potential factors are contributing to job dissatisfaction; 27% of candidates reported dissatisfaction in opportunities to develop their skills in their job and 36% also said they were unlikely to fulfil their career aspirations in their current organisation.

Despite a decline in regards to progression and job satisfaction, employees seem to be getting on better with their managers, with net satisfaction with line managers rising to +47 from +44 in Autumn 2015.
