The long-standing icon of Britain - the red telephone box - is losing its use due to the increase in mobile phones, rendering pay phones expendable.
However, a US firm is launching an initiative to convert unused phone boxes into mini-offices. New York-based company, Bar Works, plans to fit the phone boxes with printers, scanners, 25-inch screens and Wi-Fi.
The central location of the telephone boxes offers convenience for workers on-the-go, who will also receive free coffee whilst using the facility.
According to International Business Times, the company will renovate phone boxes in five major British cities and has already leased fifteen of BT Group's old phone boxes in London and Edinburgh, which will be launched in the coming months.
