Workers who continue to work past age 65 can lengthen their lives, according to research.
Retiring too soon could send you to the grave earlier, with a study showing those who worked past 65 had an 11% lower risk of death from all causes.
Even those who were classified as unhealthy and worked another year longer, had a nine per cent lower mortality risk, according to the study led by Oregon State University - The Daily Mail reports.
Chenkai Wu, the main author of the study and PhD student at Oregon State University commented on the results: “It may not apply to everybody, but we think work brings people a lot of economic and social benefits that could impact the length of their lives.
