Workers get a significantly bigger pay rise if they change jobs, new data has found.
The results, from ADP, discovered that the average full-time employee will get a raise of 4.6% in the first quarter of this year, whereas those who switch to another position with another company will get a six per cent increase.
Those who get the most money for switching when swapping jobs are workers in the leisure and hospitality industry (10.1%), followed by trade, transportation and utilities (9.8%) and IT (7.5%).
The issue of high turnover in the leisure and hospitality industry is one that constantly plagues the sector.
