With firms such as Amazon and MasterCard revealing their gender pay gap, and gender pay gap reporting itself only around the corner, the issue of equality between the sexes is increasingly pertinent.
Santander has recently been recognised as a leader in workplace gender equality, having recently been named in The Times Top 50 Employers for Women 2016 awards.
Speaking to HR Grapevine, Vicky Wallis, HR Director at Santander UK, commented on what the bank has done on this issue: “At Santander we aim to provide a workplace where all of our employees are able to succeed and we continually review our HR policies and practices to ensure women in particular are supported in the best way possible to achieve their career goals.
“We want to help female colleagues to be able to progress and we know that in order to achieve that we must focus our attention on providing practical ways to enable that to happen.
