A devoted employee didn’t let tumultuous weather prevent her from getting to work on time.
Cathy Allen Rude, Owner of the Katy Birth Centre in Texas, worried that floods in the area would prevent her from reaching a heavily pregnant patient. However, with some perseverance and the help of a friendly neighbour, she managed to reach work on the back of an inflatable swan.
She wrote in a Facebook post: “Midwives will do anything to get to a birth. Riding a swan to get off my flooded street and make it to the birth centre! Thanks, Celeste! You gave me a great ride!”
Houston was hit by disastrous storms, flooding dozens of neighbourhoods and killing five people. In an interview with the Telegraph, Allen Rude explained her determination to reach her workplace on time.
