What are the best and worst jobs to have this year?

Careers requiring skills in IT, healthcare and mathematics are highest ranking this year, according to Career Cast’s latest report.

Standing at number one, was Data scientist with a prospective income of $128,000 (£90,000) a year and a positive hiring outlook. Following this was statistician, information security analyst, and audiologist – an indication of the leading industries this year.

Positive for HR, Human Resources Manager role came in 12th out of 200, raising its status from 14th place in 2015.

An Industry that didn’t do so well was the media, with news reporter positioned at last place for the third year running, and broadcaster following not so far behind. Reasons accounting for this were changes in the industry, such as the decline of print publishing and an increase in online content.
