1/3 trans employees have left work due to discrimination

New research by totaljobs has found that 60% of trans employees have experienced some form of transphobic discrimination in the workplace.

This transphobia was most likely to come from colleagues (38%) or management (25%).

However, prejudice can even be found during the assessment and testing stage, with 29% facing it as early as the job interview stage. This has led to 43% actively searching for trans-friendly policies when jobseeking.

36% of those surveyed also admitted to calling time on their job because of workplace discrimination, while 53% felt the need to hide their trans status from co-workers.
