42% of employees find that pay is the most uncomfortable topic to discuss with their manager, according to a recent survey.
Avoiding awkward conversations about pay with their bosses, 35% of participants admitted that they would prefer to discuss their wage with colleagues rather than addressing it directly with their manager.
Discussing pay was pressing for both male and female employees, however, 49% of men expressed that they would feel confident bringing up the issue with management compared to just 27% of women.
47% of women associated negative emotions such as feeling uncomfortable, nervous and scared when asked to describe discussions about salary, compared to 39% of men.
