Is work making you fat?

Over half of workers would stop going to the gym for work commitments, a new study has found.

51% responded to Train Fitness’ survey saying work commitments would stop them going to the gym, while 36% said work commitments would also demotivate them when it came to exercise.

Nutritionally, the workplace was affecting employees too. 33% said they had no time to prepare meals due to work commitments, while 15% also said bad influence from work colleagues affects their diet too.

While the study did not ask how this affected engagement, previous research by Oracle suggests that those that don’t use health and wellness technologies are missing a trick, as 90% of employees believe these initiatives play a crucial part in transforming corporate culture and creating a unique working environment.
