Female Air France staff are threatening to strike if they are forced to wear head scarves when flying into Muslim countries.
The airline will resume flights into the Iranian capital of Tehran on 17th April, with an internal memo sent to staff dictating female employees to don loose pants, tunics and head coverings for disembarkment in the strictly Islamist country.
Union groups have condemned the dress code, stating staff should not have to engage in religious practice.
“They are forcing us to wear an ostentatious religious symbol,” union leader Françoise Redolfi told RFI radio.
