Now is the time to outsource

Outsourcing is an age old concept that continues to prove even its toughest critics wrong. It has survived and thrived through the most challenging of economic conditions and continues to grow even through recessionary times. The outsourcing trend has run unabated, constantly evolving and improving in not only the range of the tasks being outsourced but also their complexity. Initially, simple back office and routine jobs were outsourced, nowadays much more complex and business critical tasks are being undertaken outside of the main company by outsourcing partners. Virtually every industry has taken advantage of the outsourcing boom to cut costs, improve productivity and to enhance service delivery.

Forward looking organisations are innovating their hiring process to reduce costs and to increase success ratios. It is observed that more and more organisations are taking the help of a research professional, either internally or externally, to identifying prospective candidates. This frees up valuable time for the in-house HR or staffing team to manage the assessment and interviewing process. This approach has not only helped organisations to cut executive hiring costs by over 80%, which can be a substantial saving when hiring senior positions, but also enables organisations to bring on board business critical hires in a significantly shorter time. Many global organisations are currently using the quiet time that the recession is presenting, as far as new hires are concerned, to invest in updating their knowledge about their competitors and to create a detailed talent landscape.
