Uber is offering their customers a chance to play ‘Code on the Road’, a game that hopes to recruit engineers while they’re a passenger.
Passengers in select cities where tech jobs are concentrated are sent a game during their Uber journey that requires them to test their coding skills over three 60-second rounds. Uber insists that they do not use individual information to identify recruits.
If they’re good at the game, the app will offer them the chance to get in touch with Uber.
A company spokesperson said: "We are always looking for new ways to reach potential candidates that want to join our team and help us solve interesting problems. If you're in a place where a lot of people work in tech, you may see our 'Code on the Road' challenge within the rider app.
