HR accused of not helping employee in LGBT lawsuit

A worker has filed a discrimination lawsuit against her former employer, alleging that she was targeted after revealing she was a lesbian.

Sally Dieterich, who served as Assistant to the Director of Parks and Recreation in Boulder, Colorado, also claims that the State’s Human Resources Department did not do enough to help her.

Dieterich said that she had enjoyed a friendly and personal relationship with her superior, Yvette Bowden, up until the moment she revealed she was gay, the Daily Camera reports. 

“In the first months of working together, Ms. Bowden frequently told Ms. Dieterich that they 'made a great team' and gave her high fives to express her appreciation,” the lawsuit said.
