Tesco managers are being asked to mind their manners with workers, as part of a bid to turn around the fortunes of the struggling supermarket chain.
Managers must say 'please' and 'thank you' to staff, and congratulate and praise their efforts, under the new direction – which is aimed at improving customer service.
Matt Davies, CEO of Tesco’s UK and Irish business, told The Guardian the initiative aims to celebrate staff.
“It is about celebrating success and the power of appreciation,” he said.
