Ninja job ad highlights why recruiters need 'out-of-the-box' thinking

Any recruiter with a candidate boasting impressive acrobatic skills or a flair for espionage could be in luck, with a very niche role on offer in Japan. 

The Japanese Aichi prefecture is looking to hire six ninjas. The prefecture may be looking to tap into some of the success from the neighbouring Mie prefecture’s Ninja Museum, which has drawn tourism to the region, the BBC reports.

The advert highlights the need for recruiters to think outside the box when they are looking to fill positions, and not just for niche roles.

Becky Harkins, PR specialist at Adzuna, recently argued that recruiters need to think outside the box in order to bridge the current skills shortage.  She told Executive Grapevine: “With the impact of a strong employer focus on retention really starting to take hold, recruitment agencies are likely to find matching eager candidates to roles increasingly challenging as we move into 2016, with current bosses pulling out all the stops to hang on to top talent.
