VW employee claims he was fired after questioning deletion of documents

A former Volkswagen employee has claimed that he was wrongfully fired after questioning the legality of some of the auto company’s actions.

Daniel Donovan had been a Technical Project Manager with VW since 2008, and had been present with the company pre-emissions scandal, according to Ars Technica. His lawsuit claims that data was being illegally automatically deleted from the company’s internal system, following a Notice of Violation from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

After the EPA revealed that they had discovered the rigging of the emission tests, Donovan explained that his immediate Supervisor approached him and said that VW had to stop deleting stat, effective immediately.

However, Donovan maintains that the data deletion did not stop until three days later.
