Some phrases may sound innocent, but are sure to irritate your employees, according to new research from reed.co.uk.
The jobsite has surveyed 2,000 UK workers to find out what phrases they hate hearing in the office. One seven-word sentence was deemed particularly prone to irritate your co-workers.
“Can I borrow you for a sec” was deemed the most resented and overused phrase in the survey. 41% said it was the most overused and 13% said this was the saying that sparked the most irritation amongst UK staff.
33% stated that “How long is a piece of string?” was the second most overused phrase and 28% said the same thing about “Move goal post”.
