A Great Start Makes All the Difference

Training for First-Time Managers – Essential skills from The New One Minute Manager

Becoming a first-time manager is one of the most challenging and critical career transitions. New managers are usually chosen from high performing individuals, however many are ill prepared to lead others. According to Corporate Executive Board, 60% of new managers will underperform during their first two years.

First-Time Manager is a new one-day programme, developed by The Ken Blanchard Companies, which helps first-time managers overcome this challenge by teaching them the essential skills they need to get off to a great start. Based on the #1 best-selling book  The New One Minute Manager, the First-time Manager training programme introduces Four Core Conversations and the coaching skills first-time managers need to achieve success quickly and build positive relationships with their teams.

The programme has been designed to be delivered in 6 hours, but can be split into short modules. This is a self-facilitated programme which can be delivered by in-house company trainers or managers. Comprehensive facilitation materials, including videos and leader notes, enable the facilitator to easily deliver the programme, with no requirement to attend trainer training.
