While most staff make do with a microwave meal and an instant coffee, some companies are elevating their workforce’s morale by providing cutting edge cafeterias and gourmet lunches on a daily basis.
The Daily Mail reports that companies such as Dropbox, Google and Apple are using inviting cafeterias, seasonal menus and free snacks to increase worker satisfaction, and therefore productivity.
File sharing app company Dropbox is leading the way, with a 4000 square foot space called the “Dropbox Tuck Shop” with a dedicated pastry chef, international cuisines offered daily and various courses on offer including a dessert bar.
“I eat at the Tuck Shop every day, and I must say it's one of the best spots in San Francisco,” wrote one employee on the cafeteria's Yelp page.
