Disney boss 'bothers' staff with mandatory deductions from salary for political lobbying

He may be the head of one of the world’s most well-recognised and loved companies, but that hasn’t stopped the Walt Disney CEO asking his employees to open their wallets in aid of the animation giant.

Bob Iger sent a memo to staff last week asking staff to contribute to the company’s political action committee, DisneyPAC.

The memo was leaked to Ars Technica UK, with Iger informing employees on the company’s recent intellectual property victories, including stronger IP protections in the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a Supreme Court victory that destroyed Aereo, and continued vigilance about the "state of copyright law in the digital environment."

It also mentions that Disney is seeking an opening to lower the corporate tax rate, and mentioned the importance of this year's American election to the company.
