For many years, pension plans have become a headache rather than a choice for the HR team.
Changes made April last year added another layer of complexity onto this, which has led HR departments to balance the dual aims of promoting business goals and protecting the business from potential liability.
Speaking to HR Grapevine, Rosalind Connor, Partner at ARC Pensions Law, gives pension strategy advice to HR departments.
“HR teams should always be wary of advising on matters like pensions – leaving aside the risk of giving financial advice (which can be a criminal offence for the unauthorised), well-meant advice can lay the business open to liability.
