HR software company bans shots, smoking and sex at work

A 'frat house' HR software company is about to become significantly less rowdy, after the boss banned taking shots in the office, smoking in the stairwell and a number of other unsavoury practices.

The new CEO of US company Zenefits, David Sacks sent out a number of memos to staff this month, in an attempt to reverse what the Wall Street Journal labelled a rambunctious culture.

The San Francisco headquarters was compared to a frat house, with staff reportedly all taking a shot when a member of the sales team made a sale.

A previous memo to staff also noted “crude” behaviour in the stairwell.
