Olympic 2012 staff still waiting to be paid

Up to 11 employees hired to work during the 2012 Olympic Games have still not been paid.

According to BBC Inside Out London, the staff are a mixture of stewards and security guards and are each owed £1,800. Rukhsana Kauser is former owner of Britannia Security Service, the firm who recruited the workers for shifts during the games.

She was tracked down by the BBC, however she refused to be filmed, and insisted that she never directly recruited anyone for the Olympics.

Mohammad Anwar, a security guard who worked for the firm, told the BBC that he will never give up trying to reclaim his wages, claiming that Kauser had “ran away with [his] money.” Anwar went on to tell the BBC that he was promised earning of £7-8 per hour, for 12 hour shifts, and that he worked so hard during the games that he received an award in recognition.
