Whenever anyone speaks about the upcoming Academy Awards, the same question about Leonardo DiCaprio is asked – ‘will he win Best Actor?’
Upon winning the BAFTA award for Best Actor recently, The Revenant star thanked his mother, Irmelin Indenbirken, saying: “I wouldn’t be standing up here if it wasn’t for this person. I didn’t grow up in a life of privilege. I grew up in a very rough neighbourhood in east Los Angeles. She drove me three hours a day to a different school to show me a different opportunity. It’s her birthday today. Mum, happy birthday, I love you very much.”
Adrian Shooter, Director of Executive Talent, Resourcing & Diversity at the Co-operative Group, used this as inspiration for a LinkedIn post to “share 3 things that make Irmelin Indenbirken a great Talent Manager.”The post was titled ‘What can DiCaprio's mum teach us about talent?’
