With the increasing take-up of anonymised recruiting, bias is slowly being removed from the hiring process.
The CIPD called such measures “an important part of encouraging and building more diverse workforces for the future.” However, diversity figures are still low.
Speaking yesterday, Justine Greening, MP for Putney, Roehampton and Southfields, said more should be done to find “rough diamonds” who may not be the finished article. Her speech poses the question ‘are recruiters doing enough to hire working class candidates?’
