Sir Cary Cooper on the future of HR

Be it increasingly complex big data or just “no HR”, the future of the function is eternally up for debate.   

Speaking to Executive Grapevine, Sir Professor Cary Cooper, the highly distinguished President of the CIPD, gave his thoughts on the future of HR.

“I’ll tell you what I think the future should look like, given that work has changed so dramatically; jobs are no longer for life, there are fewer people, and we’re all – more or less – on short-term contracts.

“What I’d like to see is a situation where there really is a psychological contract between employer and employee. At the moment we have no contract. Employers are working hard and long with no reciprocation in terms of job security.
