Burger King has turned to the world of hip hop to train their workforce.
Snoop Dogg has collaborated with the fast food chain in a short, informative video that details food preparation for a new release. While this may at first appear a gimmick to boost Burger King's employer brand, it is actually much more than that.
The California musician’s unique, distinctive take on training shakes up the function, and is more likely to be retained by those who have taken part in the training.
Snoop Dogg says: “Tonight, we’ll be training you all about the newest menu item – Grilled Dogs.”
He stamps his identity on the video training, saying: “Break out the burners because we grilling this dog my way - bikinis, martinis, zucchinis, yeah, you know the rest.”
He then proceeds to inform staff how to prepare their newest addition to the menu.
A Burger King spokesperson confirmed to Billboard that the video was an “internal restaurant employee training video.”
But the fast food chain is not the first company to use celebrities in their training videos. For instance, Heathrow Airport used actor Chris O’Dowd for L&D purposes last year. He narrated a video that showed staff the best ways to interact with invisible friends. The airport wanted to become world’s first ‘imaginary friend friendly’ airport. The full video can be seen here.
